  Come down to the annual Bishop's Castle Christmas Lights Festival and get into the Christmas spirit early.  Have a fun packed day, see the glorious lights and spectacular fireworks, enjoy the street party, good local food, dance to live music and of course see Santa on his sleigh.

Bring the whole family there is something for everyone Punch & Judy, juggling, a funfair, music, local Christmas fare, fine wine and ales to sample, and make sure you visit Santa in his grotto. Catch up on Christmas shopping at the street market, take advantage of the late night opening in the shops, and check out the local produce at the food market. 

By popular demand there will be the famous Bishop's Castle lantern parade and a chance to dance to the samba band underneath the fantastic lights and firework display. This year the procession will include lanterns from Wenlock Pottery.

The fun starts on 1st December at 3pm until 9pm, see the full program below:

Friday 30th November  
 
4 p.m. - 6.30 p.m.  Santa's Grotto in the Town Hall
Come and see the fantastic new grotto a head of the main festival
Saturday 1st December
   
9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m. Flea market in the Town Hall
11.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. Fair Trade Christmas Market …...
1.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. Craft Fair ………
 
3.00 p.m. onwards  
 
3.00 p.m. Town Crier announces the opening by Big Christmas Tree, High St. 
 
3.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.  Father Christmas and his new grotto Grotto in Town Hall (except….)
3.00 p.m. - late Stokes' Fun Fair in Auction Yard
3.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m.  Market Stalls - in the Market Square, High Street, Church St. and Harley Jenkins St.
3.00 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.  Stiperstones Brass Band in Old Market Place marquee.
afternoon & evening  The Bedlams and Martha's Tuppeny Dish Morris Dancers in the town centre
and singing and playing by Big Christmas Tree
5.30 p.m.  Hog Roast starts in Church St. by Stars Newsagents
5.30 p.m.  Santa's Lights procession assembles at the Six Bells Inn, Church St.
Spectacular new sleigh this year and children's pottery lanterns
5.45 p.m.  Procession moves off to Town Hall led by Bishop's Castle Drum and Bugle Band.
6.0 p.m. Christmas Lights switches on at Town Hall by Mayor Jim Gaffney
New lighting this year - brightly lit "trees" on the town centre properties.
6.10 p.m. Fireworks. 
6.30 p.m. - 8.30 p.m. Salopian Brass Band play Carols near the Big Tree.
7.30 p.m.  Church Choir processes from the Town Hall  with members of the Brass band to the
Big Tree to lead Carol singing.
8.00p.m. Bang-on Samba Band starts playing at the top of Town.  
The band will play to the bottom of town and back again!
9.00 p.m. - late Music at the Three Tuns Inn, Salop St. and Crown & Anchor Vaults, High St.
